HDmi out is an audio input as well if the ARC setting under hardware hdmi is ON & the Hdmi cable out to TV ARC input (hdmi1 or 2) is set on tv as well. this will also turn Recvr on when you turn ON the TV so the 2 are in Sync. to activate the "port" ipod modeb just press "port" then "THX" button a couple times (its clearish white middle button) Onkyo is an Universal remote that can be programmed to all your devices too just hold BD/DVD & display then plug in the code of the device. its defaulted to Scientific Atlanta cable box so no need to even program that.
